Controversy closed in my favor, now what?
Good morning, I opened a dispute for a non-compliant item that was closed in my favor, this is the message from eBay:
Here is the result of the dispute
We have issued a refund in your favor. You should receive it within 3-5 business days.
Dispute detailsDispute details
Result: The dispute has been closed in your favor.
Additional information: We are sorry to hear that you had a problem with the purchase. We are now issuing you a full refund.
Does that mean I don't have to ship the package back? I have no details about it

Mentore3 years agoIn theory you should, since the item has become the seller's property again... contact them for information on what to do.

OP3 years agoTo be clear: it’s not that I don’t want to return it, it’s just that if I opened a dispute, it’s because the seller has been evasive and uncooperative, so I don’t want to contact the seller to work out something that I probably don’t even have to return

Mentore3 years agoI understand, but if ebay doesn't give you any instructions, who would you send it to?
So if you already have very clear ideas, I think you already know what to do.

Mentore3 years agoIf you have been refunded, the item becomes the seller's property again. If you keep it without their permission, you commit the crime of misappropriation.
To stay on the right side of the law, you need to tell them that: The item is at their disposal and they can arrange a return at their own expense; If they do not collect it within 15 days, you will be forced to dispose of it.

If the seller reports you, it will be your problem.
