Dispute over the sale of an item not received
I sold an item on eBay and about a month after the sale the buyer opened a dispute for a package not received. eBay refunded him even though I proved that the package was delivered correctly, so now I’m left without the item and without the money. I don’t think eBay’s behavior is fair, as it encourages this kind of scam. How can I proceed to obtain the payment I’m owed?

Mentore2 years agoGood morning,
the fact that ebay refunded the buyer shows that something went wrong.
Had you entered the tracking information and the courier’s name correctly?
If the parcel showed as delivered, it’s basically impossible to open a claim for item not received, so I assume this first step was missed.
Also, in ebay’s claim process, the only thing you can enter is the tracking number... how did you prove to ebay that it was actually delivered?
It’s different if they opened a dispute on the payment method; only then would you have had the option to provide the shipping label and proof of delivery, and if everything was correct, it would be impossible for them to have ruled against you.
So please explain in detail what you did, because something doesn’t add up.
Best regards.

Mentore2 years agoIf you have a POD (the proof of delivery that the courier issues at your request) with the exact address that eBay gave you, it seems impossible to me that they ruled against you. Have you tried appealing and attaching this documentation?
