Dispute lost due to lack of eBay support
Summary: stevenbridges94 shared a troubling experience with eBay involving a high-value item sale. After shipping the item, the buyer claimed the package was different from the photos provided and initiated a refund request. Despite providing evidence through UPS delivery photos, stevenbridges94 received conflicting messages from eBay support and ultimately lost both the item and 3500 euros. They are seeking advice on how to appeal the decision and consider legal action against eBay due to inadequate seller support.
Good morning everyone,
something happened to me that I find disturbing on eBay's part.
I sold a very high-value item, sending the buyer the complete photos of how I had packed it in the chat on eBay. When the package arrived at its destination, the buyer opened a refund request, sending photos of a completely different package and saying that "it wasn't like in the photos": so I opened the dispute, sending the UPS courier photos taken at delivery.
In the meantime I received several emails from eBay support: 1 saying that the dispute was under review, 2 saying that I should make the return.
I wrote over and over again (4 or 5 times) in chat on eBay asking whether I should issue the refund or wait for the dispute decision, but I NEVER received a reply or they told me they would contact me by email.
Now I've lost 3500 euros and the product because eBay wasn't able to assist me, since according to whoever judged the dispute, I should have created the refund label.
Obviously I would like to appeal: how do I do it? I would also like to sue eBay for complete lack of support for sellers...
I hope someone can help me.

Mentore5 days agoFirst of all, congratulations on having the courage to sell an item of such high value on eBay... truly congratulations!
That said, if the package was damaged... true or not... you should have provided a return label and then everything would have been in the buyer's hands, who, if he didn't ship it, would have been in the wrong.
So the main issue is that you were not able to follow the procedure carefully and contact with support is practically useless in these circumstances.
They say that you learn by making mistakes...
Kind regards.
