What to do with a listing that sold well and then stopped selling?
What should I do with a listing that sold well and then stopped selling? customer support wasn't able to answer helpfully.
I asked: ''If a listing published in 2020 made 3 sales but in the last year hasn't made any more, does that mean the algorithm no longer shows it?''
In this case, what makes more sense? open it and improve it? (when I did that, it still didn't sell anymore)
Or close it and reopen it from scratch as a brand-new one? (in this case, anyway, the algorithm only picks it up after 3-4 months).

Mentore2 years agoI think your business is too niche for me to be able to give you any advice. I can imagine the customer service difficulties too.
I would never have imagined that someone could make hundreds of sales a year with that kind of items for sale.
Regarding indexing, I did a couple of tests with some book titles and yours always appear first.
PS: If you are referring to the Agrippa trilogy, the books were republished in 2019 and are easily available, so yours completely lose their appeal.

OP2 years agothanks for your reply, but beyond my niche the question was about how the algorithm works.... so what do I do if an ad no longer sells but used to: do I modify it and leave it, or do I put it back from scratch and lose the history?

Mentore2 years agoI think renewing the listings is pointless; in the tests I did, your books are always placed by the algorithm in the top positions.
What I had written to you was to try, or not, to justify the fact that an item that used to sell no longer sells (shrinking of the target market, which was already a niche, new competitors with lower prices, etc...).
