What should you do if a seller ships a package two days after the order cancellation request?
Two seconds after placing the wrong order, I requested cancellation. It was Saturday morning and I also wrote to the seller to point out that the order had been created by mistake.
On Monday morning the seller rejects the cancellation and then ships the order, citing the refusal because the order had already been sent.
Now, besides giving them obviously terrible feedback, is there anything I can do to get out of this purchase without losing more money? But above all, report this improper behavior?

Mentore1 year agoIf the mistake was yours, I don't understand why you have to make the seller "pay" for it... give the terrible feedback to yourself... the seller can refuse the cancellation request, in fact as the buyer you CANNOT cancel it!
That is by no means improper behavior... here, the one behaving improperly is you; if you make a mistake, be responsible for YOUR actions!!
If the seller does not accept returns, you'll have to keep the item... if they do accept returns, you can send it back at YOUR expense.
Best regards.

OP1 year agoThis aggressive tone seems rather inappropriate to me.
The order was placed by my mistake, ABSOLUTELY, because I wasn’t watching the phone while my autistic nephew was buying a dvd that we already have and had just watched together. I asked for the cancellation right after I noticed it (2 minutes later) and I also immediately wrote to the seller to explain the situation and kindly ask to cancel it.
Was he obliged to do it? Of course NOT, but he could have written it to me very clearly, not ignore me for two days, then report at 8 on Monday that he couldn’t cancel because the package had already been shipped and at 10 mark it as shipped.
All without ever replying to my message.
To me this is unfair, so at the very least the feedback will be in line with his behavior.
Have a good evening and thank you for the rudeness.

Mentore1 year agoSorry if I disagree with you, but I also think the seller didn’t do anything wrong. He stuck to what the sales rules allowed him to do.
There are no excuses, the account is yours and you shouldn’t have given anyone else the chance to act. If you let someone act on your behalf and in your name, you take full responsibility for it.
I also believe that leaving negative feedback on your part is a bigger unfairness than what you describe as having been done by the seller.

OP1 year agoAs I already said, he wasn’t required to cancel, but since one of the items that make up the feedback is “communication with the seller,” and the seller never replied, the feedback is rightly negative.
A simple “no, that’s not our policy” would have been enough, but that didn’t happen.

Mentore1 year agoIn my opinion, though, the tone is absolutely appropriate... if I were the seller in question, I would have written in an even worse tone.
You leave the phone unattended (maybe even used by a minor!) and then expect it to be right to penalize the seller for your DOUBLE mistake!
That’s why... one of the many reasons... Italy is going down the drain...
Have a good evening... in the meantime, the black list is guaranteed!

All it would have taken was a “no, that’s not our policy,” but that didn’t happen.
That’s also why Italy is going to hell.
And put me wherever you like, if you enjoy acting like a five-year-old and making trouble, I can live with that.

Mentore1 year agoAlways think about what others had to do... but what you should NOT have done, ever think about that... taking responsibility for your own actions is pure utopia... congratulations!

OP1 year agoExcuse me, but what I wrote seems clear to me.
The complaint was never “they should have accepted the cancellation!”, but rather the way they didn’t do it, completely ignoring the communication.
Communicating, that thing civilized people do to interact.
I had a problem caused by a mistake of MINE, I reported it and I was hoping for a positive response.
But if a negative one had come, I would have accepted it, keeping this €5 DVD as a backup, since my nephew goes through them like soap bars.
Instead I got no response at all, and instead received a contradictory message from the system about reaction times, which sounded a lot worse.
I’ve been buying on eBay for more than 20 years, I’ve exchanged messages with sellers from all over the world, some of them even incomprehensible, and yet we always managed to get the solutions across the line; I’ve had problems solved or not, experiences of every kind, and in total I must have left three negative feedbacks. THREE in 20 years.
This, toward a seller who didn’t even bother replying to me, will be the fourth. Obviously specifying the problem: terrible communication. And yes, it’s a very good reason, since it’s covered by the system.
So no, the problem is not linked to my not seeing my share of the blame, but to a shortcoming on the seller’s part. If he doesn’t want to communicate with buyers, he should sell on Amazon: there the system does everything and he doesn’t have to get his hands dirty with us riffraff.

Mentore1 year agoSure... all clear... in other words, how to "dump" your own responsibilities with communication as the excuse, when it would be enough to know that on ebay there is no obligation to reply, unlike Amazon where sellers have 24 hours to respond or face penalties!
So, besides having made a mistake... a pretty serious one, because the use of ebay by a minor is prohibited... in these 20 years she didn’t even bother to read how the marketplace actually works.
On top of that she doesn’t even know how the seller worked; maybe on Saturday and Sunday he wasn’t even there, and on Monday orders are always given priority... then messages...
Anyway, if she wanted "civil communication to interact," maybe she should have gone to the bar, or to the shopping center and struck up a warm conversation with the cashier... much to the anger of all the other buyers standing in line at the checkout!
Yet another compliment!
