Forced to send a refund?
Hello everyone
I sold a coffee machine on eBay, as good as new, it was given to me new but unused for even a week
a buyer bought my machine, contacts me a week after shipping and tells me the machine works but no coffee comes out
I told him that maybe, since it had been sitting for a while, some limescale had formed, it needs to be bled a bit
he insisted that I am a thief and that I scammed him
by mutual agreement I told him to send it back to me and I would have issued a refund if the machine actually didn’t work
when the machine was sent back to me, I found a broken piece of the tray, I contacted him telling him that I took photos of the package as soon as it arrived and also when I opened it
he blamed me for breaking the tray and after a quick check, I turned it on and it works perfectly, it was just a tiny limescale nozzle, nothing at all
I sent him photos of it working and asked him to send me an email or a phone number so I could show him that it works perfectly
I told him that at this point I would send the machine back to him, because besides accusing me of being a scammer or thief, he also damaged the tray
I also told him that I am not obliged to refund an item that works perfectly, especially since I suffered damage and accusations of fraud
now he is not replying to messages
what should I do ?

Mentore3 years agoHello,
if eBay opens the correct procedure for an item that doesn’t match, you’re obliged to refund... but since the car has been returned to you, it would still be right to issue the refund...
Kind regards.
