DAC7 doubts and fears.
Good morning to the community.
After several attempts at clarification, with differing opinions, regarding the application of the EU DAC7 directive, implemented by the Italian state on 25 March 2003 and with retroactive effect from 1 January 2003, which essentially sets sales limits of 2000 euro or 30 transactions, ebay has still not informed account holders, many of whom continue selling unaware, not knowing whether they will face restrictions (account closure or an obligation to comply) or even have to pay penalties imposed by the tax authorities.
So every man for himself and, if possible, avoid unpleasant consequences (ask the tax office or an accountant).
If it were possible to open up a constructive debate without ifs and buts, it would be useful for everyone.

Mentore3 years agoIn my opinion there should be no doubts or fears, the directive itself does not bring anything new.
..........it requires sales platforms or marketplaces, as you wish to call them, to communicate the data of sellers who have made more than 30 sales in a year or who have earned sales proceeds exceeding 2000 euros.
Reporting to the tax authorities is not a problem: you can calmly sell a car or an apartment, you can get rid of a collection of ancient coins (regularly owned) and remain simple private individuals without owing anything to the tax office even for proceeds far above 2000 euros.
Of course, if someone uses marketplaces to hide illicit selling activities ....... then yes, the regulation has a disruptive effect. After all, the laws already existed and the difference between a genuine private seller and an abusive seller was clear; it certainly is not enough to stay under 2000 euros to be sure of not running into heavy fines from the GDF.
A sort of algorithm that triggers an alarm at the GDF to direct checks more toward users who exceed certain limits. In my opinion, splitting the activity across different platforms only serves to increase suspicion, since in any case all transactions must be intermediated and traced and the data is always available to the ADE.
PS: I would suggest moving the discussion to another section of the forum to allow more users to interact.

OP3 years agoThanks for the input, I really have no idea in which section of the forum a discussion could be opened. I tried at random. I’d have things to say, but if the problem doesn’t exist then everyone will just manage as they see fit.

Mentore3 years agoI recommended using another section because here today there are only 3-4 users left who are able to reply to you.
I’d say the most logical section should be this one:
eBay Community > Forum > Selling on eBay > General selling rules
The problem doesn’t exist for me, but everyone has their own point of view and if you have a lot to say......
