Customs duties and VAT
Good morning... I'd like to understand whether, in the case of purchasing a product coming from Hong Kong worth around 700 euros, VAT is also due or whether this is already included by the seller in the 700 euros. Also, how much might the customs fees amount to and how should I pay them?
Thanks in advance

Mentore3 years agoGood evening,
for VAT you need to check at the time of purchase whether it’s applied by eBay; otherwise you’ll have to pay it on delivery, along with a good 5/15% in customs duties depending on the imported product.
Usually the delivery person accepts cash only.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoat exactly which point can I see whether eBay has already included VAT?... it would be the first time I’ve bought from outside Europe.
Thanks and best regards

Mentore3 years agoWhen you pay for the item... if the total is increased by 22%, you’ve also paid VAT.
Kind regards.

Mentore3 years agoIf you have paid the VAT, see here the possible eBay invoice related to the VAT:
How VAT is displayed at checkout
You’ll see the VAT included in the order total at checkout. In addition, the tax invoice will be available and downloadable from the Order Details page in the Purchase history.
