DAC7 DETAILS
Hello everyone, and thank you for your availability. I wanted to understand how to calculate revenues for the famous DAC7. I’ll give an example so maybe we can understand each other better. I sell an item for 100 + 5 shipping. On these 105, eBay keeps 4.10%, that is 4.3. Then there is a fixed amount per order, which is 0.29. So we’re at 4.59. On these 4.59 there is 22% VAT, so 1. Total 5.59 that must be subtracted from the 105 that the buyer paid, right? And the shipping? I had to pay more than those 5 too, which I had set as the standard rate in the listing, so I suppose I have to subtract that from the calculation too...?? TO SUM UP: 105 – 5.59 – my shipping expenses = amount to take into account for DAC7? Thanks a lot for your patience

OP2 years agoThanks, although it seems a bit strange to me to also have to consider eBay’s earnings..given that when the buyer purchases, they give the money to eBay, then eBay keeps a share and then transfers me the remainder (from which I then have to subtract the shipping costs I paid)..so I never actually see that 105...Anyway, as for the deadlines? does eBay have to report by January 2024 or March? I’ve read conflicting dates https://www.ebay.it/help/selling/selling/direttiva-dac7-legge-sulla-trasparenza-fiscale-delle-piattaforme-obblighi-di-comunicazione-materia-di-vendite?id=5394 Thanks

Mentore2 years agoIt seems that they prepare the statement for the 2023 calendar year by January 31 and then send the data to ade by March.
The reports to the tax authorities are carried out every year in January for the previous year. The first reports, however, will be sent in March 2024.
Here it seems clearer about what they report as revenue, the fees are deducted while shipping costs are not .... The total amount of your consideration is equal to the total available amount received for your sales transactions, including shipping charges and any taxes you may receive, such as VAT. The VAT collected and remitted by eBay, taxes charged on the fees and amounts deducted by eBay for fees, discount codes, canceled or deleted orders and refunds are excluded from the calculation.

Mentore2 years agoThe amount to take into account for DAC 7 is that of the revenue, so expenses or fees cannot be deducted. So you need to consider 105.

OP2 years agoThanks for the prompt response... https://www.ebay.it/spaziovenditori/novita-venditori/settembre-2023/dac7 so here in the second box? (normally I don't even get 105 by bank transfer, but less)... Thanks so much

Mentore2 years agoIn the regulation it talks about ....
The threshold limits defined by the regulation and applied to selling activity across all online selling platforms are:
In fact collections can seem misleading, and the same goes for the examples given on eBay (for example, shipping costs paid to eBay, VAT collected and remitted by eBay, VAT on fees, and amounts deducted by eBay for fees, discount codes, canceled or deleted orders, and returns).
Since shipping costs are almost never paid to eBay (they would be with a program like GSP)....
Anyway, let’s always start from the assumption that DAC7 is a regulation for platforms and does not set limits for deciding whether or not an activity is lawful.
