Do I have to pay the fee?

I’m a non-professional seller making my first listing. A buyer sees my item and buys it, then immediately asks for the cancellation. I receive the email 3 days later. I try to log in to eBay but it’s blocked: eBay’s problem, not mine. I manage to get it unblocked after another day, but by then it’s no longer possible to cancel it. I try to get help but the system kicks me out every time: there’s definitely a technical problem. I write to the buyer saying I accept the cancellation. He opens a dispute and gets a refund. I’m charged the selling fee, even though I didn’t sell anything. I protested, but customer service says I have to pay. I’ve written them many emails, but they don’t reply. I ask to be called, but they don’t phone me. I received an email saying I have to pay, otherwise they’ll notify the debt collection agency.
What can I do?

OP4 months agoIs eBay entitled to receive the commission even if the sale did not take place? Based on which clause of the contract?
Can this be challenged? To whom should the appeal be submitted?
I can't find a phone number to call, nor a certified email address...
Can you help me?

Mentore4 months agoOf course he can do it, just like you could cancel your sale within 30 days... so someone didn’t read carefully how ebay works!
If ebay steps in, you pay the fee... if you cancelled it, the fee was refunded to you.
So you have to pay... period!
Have a good evening.

But maybe I'm just too old to use the eBay app and understand eBay's rules on sales.
Since I'm also sick and can't get worked up or I'll die, I accept your advice to pay and wish you a Happy Easter.
Regards.
