Should I sue eBay for embezzlement?
I sold a piece of ceramics to a resident in the United States, ceramics worth about 1000 euros. The buyer accepted the package as everything was fine; he did not accept it with reservation (which precludes me from the possibility of compensation from the courier) after a few days, he opened a dispute, as he said the item arrived damaged. eBay informed me of everything, I said I agreed to take the item back and refund what had been given to me. eBay blocks about 1000 euros that it will refund to the buyer, but tells me that the buyer is not obliged to return my item to me. The buyer tells me he does not intend to return the item, but eBay refunds the buyer (with my money). I lost: the item worth 1000 euros, the shipping costs, about 150 euros, and the 1000 euros that eBay gave to the buyer; in practice I lost 2150 euros. I do not intend to accept this, it is truly a scam perpetrated against me, I will instruct my lawyer to pursue eBay for fraud and for any other offenses that may be apparent.

You can’t even do the math. Even if the item were worth 1000 (it was 600 before) and you add 150 for shipping, you’d lose 1150 euros (not 2150), you can’t add the value of the item to the unpaid amount.
Since you made a mess and didn’t refund on your own, you’ll be out another 50 euros in fees and 16 in dispute handling.

Mentore3 years agoAh... the thing has ballooned to €1000... it used to be just €600...
Anyway, no point going on about it... he doesn't get it and he never will understand his mistake!
Have a good evening.
