A few days ago I received a spare part I had purchased, but it turned out to be incompatible with my car, so I would like to return it. I had made the purchase without having an account and only later signed up to e-bay, precisely so I could make the return.The problem is that the system does not seem to recognize that I am the same person who placed the order and then requested the return, and this seems to be the reason why it will not let me contact the seller or even customer service.In response to the return request I received a reply saying that I can return the item by January 3. However, it is not specified who is supposed to pay the shipping costs, so they are implicitly left to me, whereas I believe the seller should pay them.But if I ask to contact the seller, I am not allowed to, precisely because the system does not recognize that I am the same person who made the purchase and who then (once I had registered on e-bay) requested the return.For the same recognition problem I am also unable to contact an e-bay operator.Note: the e-mail address I used for the purchase is the same one I later provided to register my e-bay account.Many thanks to anyone who can help me.
