Customs
Hello, I bought a product from Japan where it was stated that no additional customs charges were expected. Why then, when I received the package at home, did I have to pay them to the postman?

Was VAT already shown on the eBay payment form? If you paid it, you can find the invoice for VAT only here:
In cases where eBay has collected VAT, you'll see VAT included in the order total at checkout. In addition, the tax invoice will be available and downloadable from the Order Details page in Purchase history.

Did the postal worker give you a receipt that specified what you paid?
If you paid VAT twice, eBay will refund the amount overpaid, by uploading the receipt for the second payment.
