Question regarding the QR code for a package to be sent to a person.
Summary: The discussion concerns a question about QR codes for sending a package to someone. However, no specific details or additional content are provided in the messages.
I sold a book to a person who lives on the other side of Italy from me; the buyer chose local pickup as the shipping method: quite a strange thing, given that I don’t see how it could be possible for her to come get a book from me. So I decided to ship it to her address instead. The only problem is that Ebay didn’t provide me with the QR code to print and attach to the package, and the post office won’t take it without that.
My question is this: since the buyer sent me a 6-digit code (which was used to confirm the pickup for Ebay and to transfer the money to my Ebay account), does that code count as a QR Code? So, could I print the code and attach it to the package, or is it something entirely different?
Thank you very much.

Mentore1 year agoThe package should not be shipped, the buyer chose not to pay the shipping costs and to pick it up directly in your area.
You were supposed to scan eBay's QR code (or the 6-digit code) at the time of pickup in your area and it would have served as proof of delivery.
Now, in practice, you have the proof of delivery code, the buyer has put themselves in your hands and you should ship it to them at your own expense (you could ask them to pay you for it, in advance, separately).

Thanks

Mentore1 year agoNo, that code was only needed by you to prove that you delivered the package. You have to enter the code manually in the system .... https://www.ebay.it/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/local-pickup?id=4181&st=3&pos=2&query=Offrire%20il%20ritiro%20dell%27oggetto%20in%20zona&intent=ritiro%20in%20zona&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1136#section4
Arrange it with the buyer and ship.

OP1 year agoI already entered the code once to let Ebay know that the package had been picked up, which did not happen (because the buyer doesn't live next to me).
I really don't know where to put this code. The Post Office wants (rightly) the QR code, which I don't have.
The only solution is to pay the shipping costs (5 or 6 euros or whatever it is) out of my own pocket and send it myself to his address. I don't see any other way.

But then why on earth did the buyer choose local pickup if they live in a completely different place from where I live? Wouldn’t it have been better if they had paid the shipping costs?
Thanks
