Double charge for multiple purchase
Good evening.
I’m reaching out to ask for clarification regarding an apparent discrepancy in the payments made for a recent online purchase.
I bought two items from two different sellers, but I placed a single order, putting both items in the cart and then proceeding with the purchase all at once.
On my bank statement, however, three separate charges are shown, for example:
one payment for the total order amount, which comes to €300, and two additional payments, respectively of €100 and €200, corresponding to the individual cost of each of the items purchased.
For all three charges I have the corresponding accounting letters, which, if I’m not mistaken, indicates that the payments have already been recorded.
I would like to know whether this is normal and whether I should expect a refund for the duplicate charges in the next few days.
I would also like to understand whether this is a common problem and, if so, how it was resolved by other customers who have had the same experience.
Thanks in advance
Marco

Mentore2 years agoIt's not normal, but it can happen that there are duplicate charges from the payment method provider. One of the two is just a pre-authorization and is reversed within a few days.
It's already happened to other users, we've talked about it several times on the forum (try searching by topic: "duplicate charge"). In past cases, it was resolved with a few days of patience.

I imagined that too, but I didn’t expect both payments to be recorded.
I’ll check in a few days to see if they credit the amount back to me.
thanks again and have a good evening
