Downgrade from Professional
Good morning,
I’ve read several discussions, both online and a couple here on the community, where I can clearly see that downgrading from a professional account to a standard one is possible. I’ve tried calling eBay twice and two different operators told me that it’s not possible.
I’m asking you for a huge help in finding out whether there’s any other way to get this blessed downgrade, otherwise I won’t be able to use this account anymore.
PS: To anyone who asks me why I made the switch, I’ll say that I mistakenly thought I’d get benefits, not doubled fees, fixed listing fees, etc. I made the switch because I had bought several lots from Japan to upload to the store, which I won’t be doing since with such fees I have no competitiveness at all, and I knew I could have waited and I was wrong.

unfortunately support is right, downgrading from professional to private is NOT possible.

Mentore3 years agoThis is a post from 2012, then it talks about a mistake and that they immediately went back.
The professional account is necessary when you want to sell something that was specifically purchased so it can be resold. Obviously, if that was the conscious reason why it was created or changed (and it is not a mistake), the choice is irreversible.
Then you also made sales as a professional seller, so you definitely cannot claim mistake.
