Hello, I should buy an item from a seller who has made pickup in person available for it. Since I'm new to eBay, I wanted to know if you recommend this delivery method and what precautions to take to avoid being "ripped off." In particular, the item in question is an electronic item, so I fear that even if the cosmetic condition is perfect, in reality it may not turn on at all or may have complications functioning properly.
I'm trying to be especially careful and cautious with this purchase on eBay because I have already been ripped off before (in a rather stupid way, I must say) by an apparently reliable seller.

Mentore4 months agoIf you pay in advance through ebay and not on delivery, you still have the ebay customer guarantee and can request a return if the product does not match the listing.

OP4 months agook, thanks a lot, if necessary how long after delivery can the return be made? Also, is the return included in the eBay guarantee, right? and is it also available if the seller does not accept returns?

Mentore4 months agoFor returns there are 30 days, but the eBay guarantee only applies to discrepancies from the listing (if it’s different, if it was described as working and it doesn’t work as it should, if parts are missing, if there are defects that were not described in the listing, etc.).
If the seller does not accept returns, you cannot ask for a return because you changed your mind (even if it matches the description: you don’t like the item, it doesn’t meet your expectations, it’s not your size, etc...).
