DOUBTS ABOUT SIGNING UPON DELIVERY FOR ORDERS OVER 550 EUROS
Summary: domedepas-14 raised doubts about the need to sign on delivery for orders over 550 euros. However, no further context or continuation of the discussion is provided.
Good evening everyone,
I’m reaching out to the community because I have some doubts regarding signature upon delivery.
I’ll quote an eBay help article that says: " If the total order value (including shipping costs and any taxes) is equal to or greater than EUR 550, you are required to purchase signature upon delivery to be protected in case a buyer reports an item not received. "
As a seller who always uses eBay Shipping (clicking on the selected order and then on "get a shipping label") to be protected on orders equal to or greater than 550 euros in case a buyer reports an item not received, what should I do? Intuitively, I thought that for this situation the option found at the bottom when buying the label on eBay Shipping that says "Request adult signature" might be useful.
I’m relying on you (especially more experienced users who are both sellers and buyers) to learn more.
Is that the useful button to handle this situation, or do couriers normally have someone sign some document as proof of successful delivery to the right person and address?
Thank you for your attention and I’ll be here reading your replies, hoping this forum will be useful to many.
Regards

OP9 months agoGood evening,
I found out, by looking into it, the answers to what I had asked you about 2 months ago.
According to what a customer service representative at Ebay told me,The button to add signature upon delivery, when purchasing the label on ebay shipping, will appear as a selectable option on orders with a total value of 550 euros or more. The option does not appear on orders with an amount below 550 euros.
So, consequently, the button "Request adult signature" is not the correct option to add signature upon delivery for the shipment. Packlink, in fact, told me that the selected adult signature option requires the signature of an adult for the parcel/delivery to be received.
So these are 2 different options with different purposes.
I hope I have been helpful
