Question about a very recent purchase

Good afternoon everyone, I completed a purchase last night, and paid 800 euros by credit card for a watch. Today I find a message from the seller (German) asking if it would instead be possible for me to send him money via paypal, citing as the reason that "the commission fees are too high for his budget".
Do you have any suggestions?
In the purchases I've made over time with ebay, I had never come across a situation like this.

Mentore1 year agoVia PayPal would be outside of eBay, which intermediates all payments, and on the platform it is obviously forbidden, both for you and for the seller.
You would also have fewer guarantees, so either they ship you the item or they refund you.
