EBAY / Amazon ES, “CUSTOMERS” from Spain
good morning everyone,
I would like to share some experiences we’ve been having with the Spanish marketplace.
We’ve had orders from Spanish customers who tried to scam us. In some cases they returned (at our expense) empty boxes or completely different, non-working items. Then leaving negative feedback, complaints etc
Among other things, it remains to be understood why international return shipping costs must be borne by the seller, requiring us to provide a prepaid waybill and trying to steer us sellers toward third-party companies for return management services. From my experience, this system sounds like a racket…
Aside from that, we are sure that those who have caused us these problems on this ES platform are competitors or other distributors of the same brands from Spain who are trying to “ruin” our sales in their country. At the same time, though, they sell in Italy.
So I would like to warn all fellow sellers to be careful on the ES marketplace because of these dishonest people.
I hope that someone takes serious action against these companies that also sell in Italy and that in their country treat us like dirt.

Mentore3 years agoIt’s hard to think of this as a criminal scheme; maybe it’s more a matter of isolated cases.
As for return costs, there is a European directive that specifically provides for this. In the case of non-compliant products, return costs are always borne by the seller.
The six negatives from the last year then show two delivery delays, two items sent different from what was ordered (in one case you tried not to pay the return costs) and only two doubts.

OP3 years agomy report is not referring to the negative feedback you saw. Some were removed for exactly the reasons mentioned above. For the visible ones, it’s clear there was a problem, delays, etc., and they were not disputed. That’s fair enough.
The reply about the directive misunderstands my message, we’re talking about two different things.
One thing is a non-compliant product, another is exercising the right of withdrawal.
Why does the rule require the seller to take care of the return of the goods when a customer decides to return the product?
Criminal scheme may be a bit much, but as far as I know in legal terms fraud is a crime. If you send me back an empty box or a product that isn’t the one I shipped you, it means that in some way you’re trying to scam me.

Mentore3 years agoThe same regulations require the professional seller to accept returns for a change of mind, but in this case the return shipping costs are solely borne by the buyers. The important thing is that the buyers used the correct reason for the return.
