Does eBay allow the buyer to keep the item and the money?
private sale, the buyer disputes the item, I don’t respond and he gets refunded with my money and keeps the item, refusing to return it to me. Does eBay work like this? Will I never get the item back again? It’s as if it had been stolen from me.

Mentore3 years agoIf the buyer opens a return request for item not as described, you are obliged to accept it... it's not an eBay issue, it's Italian law that establishes this for distance sales, whether you're a private seller or not!
So if you didn't do anything and didn't arrange for the return pickup at your expense, this is the result: eBay refunds the buyer on your behalf with your money, and the buyer has no obligation to send it back.
You can therefore contact the buyer and arrange a prepaid shipping label for them; if they don't want to return it, you can report them for embezzlement.... but if you had cooperated from the start, this wouldn't have happened!
The moral of the story is that before using a marketplace, it's always good practice to read the rules and, above all, how it works.

Mentore3 years agoYou were the one who ignored all eBay procedures and allowed the buyer to get his money back even without first returning the item to you.
Now, if you want your item back, you will no longer be able to get eBay's help. You will have to take legal action on your own, demanding its return (at your own expense); if there is no response, you can report the buyer for unlawful appropriation. See whether the item’s value is worth it.
