EBAY IS MANIPULATING SALES
I’ve been selling on eBay professionally for three years, and I have to say I’ve generally been pretty happy with it, if it weren’t for the fact that every now and then (every month) there are these lulls. By lulls I mean that I sell every day, but honestly I still haven’t figured it out, every month sales lulls come up, which can range from 5 to 8 days, like now as I’m writing this. Unfortunately, the various standard and advanced promotions in this case don’t count for anything at all, just as free shipping, competitive pricing, the sales history on a single item, positive feedback, etc. don’t count for more visibility. The only thing working against me is that every now and then there are late shipments and/or ones without tracking, but I don’t think that’s the anomaly affecting sales. I’ll repeat it: today, 16/04, it’s exactly 8 days that I haven’t sold anything, and given the bit of experience I’ve built up over these 3 years of selling, I think I’m somewhat justified in saying the above, despite eBay support trying to get around the issue and always saying the same things, e.g. promote it, free shipping, etc. I even (it has to be said) hoped there was some block on my account, a limitation, at least some explanation for the fact that I’m not selling; unfortunately and/or fortunately, I’m as innocent as snow...

Mentore3 years agoGood morning,
it may seem like a small thing, but if you have low performance and are a standard seller, these parameters negatively affect the visibility of your items...
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoGood morning,
As for the seller level, I have always had "above standard", not top because I have several listings with paid shipping; the only thing that maybe penalizes me (maybe) is performance, due to some late shipments. I forgot to say that what sounds strange to me, and it’s not the first time, is that I sell daily for 20/30 days, then suddenly there’s a block that can last 5/6/7/8 etc. consecutive days, and it’s this continuous daily pattern that leaves me puzzled. Moreover, I don’t have many listings, about 30, of which 5/6 items are the most popular, and daily I manage to get an average of 25/28 visits in total, which for me is already a good result, and at least 3 of my offers always among the top 10 positions, considering the use of various keywords, using search while clearing cookies, history, incognito mode and whatever else, and, not least, using another desktop PC.
