Ebay won't let you sell items worth more than 10 euros?? Crazy rule or bug?
Good morning everyone,
Today I wanted to put an item up for sale at 340 euros with the buynow option. I should point out that I haven’t sold for years, but I have an account where I buy often and anyway I have 453 feedback, 100% positive. Anyway, when I try to list it, this message appears:
"This listing would exceed the total value of the items you can put up for sale. This month you can list items for an additional value of € 10,00. Consider lowering the starting price or request an increase in your selling limits."
Now I can’t make any sense of this message. Basically, can people with no sales history only sell items worth less than 10 euros?? To me that just doesn’t make any sense at all. What’s the point?

unfortunately for eBay, buying frequently or having lots of feedback as a buyer is not a guarantee of being a reliable seller.
The point may be that you may have had a questionable selling history... only you and eBay know what you sold and how over the past few years, and if they decided to drastically lower your limits, they must have had a valid reason.
So, try asking support to raise your limit; only in this way will you be able to understand the real meaning of the matter...

Actually, I've always had 100% positive feedback when I mostly sold used stuff, and I've never had any problems. The only thing is that I haven't sold in 10 years, I think... the default limit must have gone down. The problem is that following the link to increase the limit, it tells me that it's not possible to do it, and the FAQs are a jungle from which I can't find a form to write directly to eBay or the option to have them call me.
