I buy a new cellphone from a seller in Hong Kong, only to later find out that they sell poorly refurbished cellphones instead of new ones.The cellphone arrives, it's clearly used, it doesn't work, the seller denies it, I check the seller, I find feedback from buyers reporting the same scam, despite the negative feedback from buyers, eBay allows the seller to keep scamming people, I had no idea this happened, I'm an honest person and up to today, 20 years of online shopping, apparently, lucky.I contact eBay, I prove the scam with photos and data, eBay tells me they will refund the cellphone only after I send it back, paying the costs out of my own pocket (the seller doesn't send me a label and only sends me part of the money needed for the return) I write to eBay that I don't want to be scammed again and that I won't ship the item unless they pay for the shipping. eBay customer care assures me they will pay it after the return, I don't trust them, so I have customer service send me an email confirming that once I ship the cellphone and provide the tracking number and the shipping cost invoice (60 euros), they will refund me. I receive the email in which customer care writes to me confirming that eBay will reimburse me for the shipping costs, which I will have to pay upfront. I make the return, send everything to eBay too, I receive an email telling me they will refund the cellphone but they will NOT refund the shipping costs.I contact them again, they hang up the phone, I write to them and they don't respond.What should I do?Is it possible that eBay continues to support scammers, in turn scamming buyers?
