eBay shipping - who pays?
Good evening everyone,
although I’ve used the platform for many years now, one thing about the eBay shipping system still isn’t clear to me: the purchase of the label is my responsibility, and as a consequence the shipping is my responsibility too, is that correct? I know it’s a stupid question, but I’d really need some clarification on this.
Thanks!!!

OP1 year agoYes, it's always been like that so ok... I meant how shipping payment works with the integrated "eBay shipping" system https://www.ebay.it/spaziovenditori/spedizione/ebay-spedizioni

Mentore1 year agoAbsolutely nothing changes. Ebay Shipping is just a simple arrangement with a broker (Packlink) with automated label creation. But even with the manager, you’re still the one choosing the shipping method (Poste, DHL, USPS, etc...), and keep in mind that you have no obligation to use Packlink.

Mentore1 year agoOf course you do.
You’re the one who, in the listing, sets shipping costs and then has those paid by the buyer.
How can you even think you shouldn’t then have to pay for the shipping yourself?

OP1 year agoHi Mario,
thank you for your reply. Apparently I wasn’t clear enough: I can only buy the shipping label after the buyer has purchased the item, so the buyer does not pay for shipping (which therefore remains entirely at my expense) but only the actual cost of the item, is that right? Or is the cost of the label reimbursed to me by the buyer after I make the purchase?
If so, it makes sense to include the shipping cost in the item’s price.
Thanks again

Mentore1 year agoNO.
When someone buys one of your items, they pay straight away for both the item and the shipping cost that you listed in the ad.
You receive both of these payments (minus eBay fees) and therefore you then have to pay for shipping yourself.
For example, if someone bought your Diabolik fighter, they would pay 95+11 = 106 euros
eBay deducts its fees of about 6 euros and pays you the remaining 100.
You have to buy the shipping and the buyer does not have to reimburse you anything (they have already paid you for the shipping).
