eBay shipping SCAM on price difference by weight
We ship small packages, each under 3 kg, and every time we get a price adjustment for an incorrect weight.
For example, for a product that weighs 2 kg packed, we enter 2.6 kg and sure enough they detect 3.1 kg
Same product, same packaging, even though it falls within the same price range of Euro 4.76 Euro, they always charge us 1 to 2.2 Euro more (we're talking about the same product, same packaging)
We dispute the shipments and they credit the amount back to us, but the problem remains because we can't lose half a day every single day dealing with disputes.
I contacted eBay directly and they can't do anything, they tell me to file a complaint (basically, I write to the thieves that they're thieves and they take note of it)
We're urgently looking for an alternative with fair prices and without having to go crazy with all the tricks the couriers use to squeeze money out of you.

Mentore1 year agoSince you've been using the shipping service offered by ebay for so long, you should know that it's not offered by ebay... ebay doesn't ship anything, but you pay Packlink... which is a broker, Packlink doesn't ship anything either!
The moral of the story is that you need to pay very close attention to the difference between the physical weight and the volumetric weight of the package.
If you want to avoid similar incidents, it might be a good idea to subscribe directly to a courier, for example Poste Delivery Business, which has very competitive prices even compared to Packlink.

we always enter actual weights and measurements, they inflate them, there's a slight difference...
We already have a subscription with Poste Delivery Business but, for small and medium-sized parcels, the price is not as competitive as you say.
We will find other solutions, Packlink, or rather Auctane, is not a serious and reliable partner.

Mentore1 year agoThis is common knowledge... anyway, Poste Delivery Business has always charged me €4.50 + VAT up to 2 kg... if that’s not competitive...

OP1 year agoeuro 4.50 + VAT, sure, that’s competitive, but to this you have to add the
Fuel surcharge and, SCS, if they are destined for islands. Unfortunately the problem
with all couriers is that they start from a price and then on the invoice you find
surprises.
It’s true that Packlink is the one shipping, but Ebay works with them, an unreliable
partner and it’s not just us saying so....
Anyway, alternatives can be found.

Mentore1 year agoIn my contract the price was fixed... actually it is fixed because it is still in force... no other surcharge is applied, apart from storage and various delivery options.
