Refund Experiences for Incompatible Car Accessories
Summary: ndrli-0 shared a negative experience after buying a steering wheel that wasn’t compatible with their car and is looking for advice on how to get a refund. They asked the community for suggestions or personal experiences on how to handle similar situations with car accessory sellers.
Hello everyone,
I’ve found myself in an unpleasant situation: I bought a steering wheel for my car, but when I came to install it, I discovered that it wasn’t compatible as promised. I’m trying to get a refund, but the process seems complicated.
I’d like to ask the community: have you had similar experiences with incompatible car accessories? What strategies did you use to resolve the situation and get a refund? Were you able to negotiate effectively with the seller, or did you use other channels? Any advice or personal story will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your support!

Mentore2 weeks agoIf the replacement part was expressly indicated as compatible for that model of that specific year and then you find out it isn’t, you can ask for a return (at their expense) and a refund for having received a product that does not match the listing.
If the listing did not specify it and you thought it might be compatible, that’s your mistake and you can ask for a return (at your expense) only if the seller accepts returns.
In these cases it is always better to contact the seller before buying, sending them the car’s chassis number. Only that way can you be sure of compatibility.
