Seller return label not received
Summary: The discussion topic concerns an issue where a seller did not receive the return label. antomitoz seems to have started the discussion without receiving any informative response, and marioelegio replied, but the content of their interactions is indicated as 'None', so it is unclear what details were exchanged. However, the situation remains apparently unresolved in the messages indicated.
Hello, a few days ago I opened a return request for a used product, which did not match the description, as it had hidden defects, such as scratches not mentioned by the seller. The product was described as new, but the photos only showed the side without defects. The seller accepted the return, but did not provide the return label. Also, it seems they confirmed the refund before receiving the item. Now the case is closed, and I don't know how to proceed. I can't get in touch with the seller to reach an agreement, for example by shipping the item or returning part of the money, since the product did not match the description. eBay support staff told me it is the seller's fault, that they made a mistake, but I am worried about what could happen if I don't resolve this. Could they file a complaint? The item is worth 600 euros.

Mentore1 year agoAfter you have actually received the refund, the item has returned to the seller's property and you are only its custodian.
So you message him on eBay and let him know that you have been duly refunded and that the item is now at his disposal, and it is up to him to decide whether to send you a prepaid return label.
To free yourself from the obligation of custody, you also tell him that you won't be able to keep it for long and that after 15-20 days you will be forced to get rid of it.

OP1 year agoThe thing that scares me is this: I agreed with him to have the phone screen repaired and deduct the cost from the total amount. All this has to be done outside of eBay because, for eBay, he confirmed the refund without receiving the phone. But if I do as he says, since I expect anything from anyone, even with the agreement, can he still falsely claim that I didn't send him the money? Is there a way to protect myself, like having him send an email or a message where he writes "I, the undersigned (his name), born in (city) on (date)"? Just to be on the safe side?.
because I repeat, for eBay the dispute is closed and they told me that it's not my fault and that if I want to reach an agreement with him by refunding him, it's only a favor I do for him

Mentore1 year agoYou chose a complicated route, when a partial refund would have been enough.
For eBay the matter is now closed, but he could report you for embezzlement.
So you’d need an agreement between the two of you, just a message, in which you buy the phone (again) for a certain amount.
