Feedback
Hello.
I have been using Ebay since 2007.
I’m writing to ask why Ebay deletes negative feedback received by “mega-starred” sellers.
Over the years I have had to leave two negative feedback comments for two different sellers (the details are irrelevant at the moment).
The first one called me after 11 p.m. to complain about the feedback, and the second, recently, repeatedly threatened to turn to “the lawyers”.
Within a few days, in both cases, Ebay, without even consulting me (!) deleted my negative feedback (in the second case I noticed that it also deleted another negative feedback the seller had received those days).
So, I ask you, why, for money, does one end up hurting oneself... risking killing the goose without settling for the daily golden eggs?...
Thanks in advance!

Mentore3 years agoAnyway, reading the negative feedback you left a few years ago, I can confirm what Sika told you. An experienced seller would have forced ebay to remove them, since they violate both ebay's rules and national defamation laws.
This is the substantial difference, professional sellers know the laws and know how to handle things.

OP3 years agoCould I have, please, the link to the page where my negative feedback, which I would have left a few years ago, "should" be written...?
pptrento
OP3 years agoExactly...
The negative feedback I would have left "a few years ago"... do NOT exist...
I understand that replying in the "Community" is also advertising for each seller (just click on the link "see listings"), but do yourselves the courtesy, at the very least, to write the truth and to make sure of how things really stand before judging...

Mentore3 years agoHello,
if the tone of the removed feedback is the same as the ones left on his account, you can't call a seller "wrong"... it's defamation!
Also because if the item doesn't arrive, there are clear procedures for asking eBay for help, feedback doesn't solve the problem!
So, it's not a matter of "super-star rated"... these experienced sellers know very well how to handle things and, by asking eBay, had the feedback removed because it didn't comply with the site's rules or was defamatory.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoHello,
I didn't write that the seller is "wrong"...
I simply described what happened and the attempt to take me for a ride by the seller...
This is the second time this has happened to me, and in both cases eBay completely "forgave" and cleaned up the seller's "record".
In this last situation, there were actually two of us customers who had left negative feedback within a few days...
But a few days later, the negative feedback had dropped to 0.
In this way eBay protects sellers with higher turnover, forgetting that turnover is created by customers, and also losing its own credibility...
Thank you anyway for the reply. Have a good day.

Mentore3 years agoAnd what would be the scam carried out by the seller?
The item didn’t arrive?
There is the correct report...
The item wasn’t as described?
There is the return request...
Feedback does NOT solve problems...
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoMy dear "sika700", why are you so convinced that "feedback DOES NOT solve problems..."?
If, after a purchase, you do not provide me with the tracking number even a week after the maximum delivery deadline has expired and then, after I open a dispute for non-delivery, you tell me that the next day you will go to the post office to ask for the return of the "Posta1" shipment ( !!! ... 🙂 🙂 🙂 ), a simple refund of the money I spent is not enough...
In the face of these facts, I was unjustly deprived, for days, of my money, since you have NEVER shipped what I bought, continuously lying about it.
At that point, a NEGATIVE feedback is absolutely justified! and it protects all the other buyers...
And Ebay, which in the meantime has handled MY money, has NO right to UNJUSTLY CANCEL MY FEEDBACK...
Especially without even consulting me...
On the "net", many, both "big" and "small", think they can do whatever they want...
But that is absolutely not the case.

Mentore3 years agoThe answer is simple: feedback didn't help you get the item nor get your money back!
Feedback remains only a form of spite... since ebay has a system to penalize sellers based on their performance, in fact feedback is no longer among the parameters used...
It certainly isn't a spite toward ebay either.
Best regards.

OP3 years agoMy money was returned to me...
I bought the item on another site...
Feedback is USED to stay away from "certain" sellers...
But eBay, by now, has other interests...
Best regards.
