Negative feedback
Hello, I have a problem with a seller who made a mistake and sent me the wrong products, causing me a financial loss, because I cannot return them due to partial use of the goods, and various issues related to the error.
Despite this, after I left him negative feedback, he wrote to me in a threatening tone, telling me to immediately remove the negative feedback otherwise he would turn to a lawyer.
I list below part of the email I received on 20/02/2023
"We await immediate removal of the feedback to close everything amicably; otherwise, against our wishes, we will be forced to take legal action if necessary."
In addition, I noticed that as of today this seller has 40 feedback revisions from neutral or negative or neutral or positive. It seems it is common practice to pressure dissatisfied customers into withdrawing negative feedback.
In fact, 2 days ago, besides mine, he had another negative feedback, which all of a sudden became positive, even though from the title of that feedback it is clear that it is a complaint.
These threats are absolutely not allowed, and in my opinion it is legitimate to leave negative feedback when you have not been satisfied.
Kind regards.

Mentore3 years agoWith all due respect, a “good” mechanic shouldn’t have to install and use a filter to check whether it’s compatible... they can see that at a glance!
So you should also leave negative feedback for your mechanic, who is clearly incompetent!
Anyway, that feedback will be removed... it violates eBay’s rules...
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoHi, that’s true, but if you bring him the filters, he assumes they’re the right ones.
The problem is that the seller called me “dishonest” and accused me of lying. None of that is true because I ordered the correct filters; they sent me the wrong ones.
But does it seem possible to you that after I’ve been harmed, I also have to keep quiet?
Does it seem normal to you that the seller calls you a liar?
Anyway, I was very disappointed by the way they operate. Unfortunately, I’m left with filters I have to throw away and an extra expense I hadn’t planned on.
Thank you and have a nice day.

Mentore3 years agoIt depends on what you write in the feedback.
In your case, the feedback will be deleted by eBay at the seller's request because it violates the criminal code, art. 595 c2, on aggravated defamation (and eBay will be careful not to be implicated as an accomplice).
If you write: .........They don't take care of the customer, who for them is just a number...... You are expressing your personal opinion about the seller. Your opinion is neither objective nor restrained and goes beyond the right to express your opinion, harming the seller's reputation.
He is unlikely to report you, but there could be grounds for it.

OP3 years agoThank you for the reply.
He called me dishonest, saying these words to me
"we take care of all our CORRECT and HONEST customers, assisting them in every way, not surprisingly we are TOP eBay sellers. This must not turn into FALSE Feedback"
Can they write things like that?
I wrote that they do not take care of the customer because I would have expected, as every seller who cares about the customer does, to be supported by them, since they made the mistake, and to have them solve the problem for me.
I am in the right; everything can be proven, what I ordered and what they shipped me.
p.s. How long does eBay take to remove the feedback??
Thank you very much.

Mentore3 years agoTheir reply is not offensive, it says that ....they take care of all their correct and honest customers...., it doesn't say that they haven't taken care of you.
Even if you think you are in the right, you can't start from the objective description of a fact that happened and then express a general judgment. By writing ....They don't take care of the customer, who for them is just a number.... you are not referring only to yourself but to all customers and this you cannot know (so it's not the truth).
The feedback will be removed only if the seller asks for it, I seem to remember that they have 90 days to ask for it. If they don't ask for its removal, it will stay there forever.
