Negative feedback reporting false facts
Summary: The discussion concerns the topic of "Negative feedback reporting untrue facts" in which sb_1986 and marioelegio interact. However, neither party provides any details or specific content in their messages.
I’ll report the following situation:
the buyer immediately purchases one of my items (a Blu-ray); before proceeding with shipping, I realize it has a small defect not described in the original listing. I then contact the buyer in the eBay chat, attaching photos of the defect to make sure this does not lead to post-sale disputes and unwanted negative feedback (prevention is better than cure). Two days pass from the purchase and I get no response either way (confirmation to proceed with the sale or refusal and the resulting request to cancel it). I then contact the user via WhatsApp chat, attaching the same photos sent in the eBay chat and describing the situation. Long story short, the buyer asks me to cancel the sale. I therefore cancel the sale and relist the item in question (at a higher price since I realize that an identical item is currently on sale at a price twice as high as the one I had set previously), this time highlighting the defect by attaching additional photos and describing it in writing. Everything is fine until, a few days later, the buyer who had asked me to cancel the sale contacts me both on WhatsApp and in the eBay chat asking me to buy the item again, saying she had made a mistake in canceling the order and blaming me for it for having pressured her, which I absolutely deny. At this point, considering the total waste of time, I politely and firmly refuse any willingness on my part to proceed with the sale again with the user. Result? Negative feedback, and eBay doesn’t want to hear about removing it. Among other things, I ask for a review of the negative comment to the user who instead doubles down, making false claims while also insulting my person and my honor. More specifically HE STATES FALSEHOODS IN THAT THE CANCELLATION WAS NOT THE RESULT OF ANY COERCION (AS HE HIMSELF PUBLICLY CLAIMS IN THE FEEDBACK TO AN AUDIENCE OF PEOPLE) BUT OF THE FREE CHOICE OF THE OTHER PARTY, WHO EXPRESSED ITSELF IN THOSE EXACT WORDS ON WHATSAPP (BUT NOT IN THE EBAY CHAT). THE PRICE INCREASE, ONCE THE ORDER WAS CANCELED, IS ALSO ENTIRELY AT THE SELLER’S DISCRETION.
I KINDLY ASK THE EBAY USER COMMUNITY FOR AN OPINION ON THIS MATTER AND WHETHER IT IS WORTH PURSUING LEGAL ACTION, GIVEN THAT WHAT THE USER WROTE IN THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK CONTRADICTS THE ACTUAL COURSE OF EVENTS AND, AS PROOF OF THIS, THE WHATSAPP CONVERSATIONS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Mentore1 year agoInstead of responding by putting yourself on his same level, you would have done better to ask for the feedback to be removed from ebay .... https://www.ebay.it/help/policies/feedback-policies/regole-sui-feedback?id=4208&st=3&pos=4&query=Regole%20sui%20feedback&intent=richiesta%20rimozione%20feed&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1223#section2
Try asking for it anyway, using the email you’ll find at the bottom of the page I attached.
p.s. The next feedback really seems like a joke to me, it looks like it was put there on purpose as a patch and the effect is really terrible. It only reinforces what’s written in the negative.
bye

OP1 year agoDear ‘marioelegio’, the removal of the negative feedback was requested immediately and only after multiple requests did EBay finally remove my negative feedback.
P.S.
Your judgment on the subsequent feedback remains your own free interpretation (users’ comments are a matter of free will). The removal of the negative feedback (which happened after my request for help to the community) in fact confirms the full truthfulness of what I reported in my request for help to the community.
thanks anyway for your contribution

Mentore1 year agoBesides asking how to get negative feedback removed, you explicitly asked “the eBay user base” for an opinion on this matter. You can’t then complain if the opinion of those who reply doesn’t line up with the one you wanted.
