eBay guarantee on pre-order
Summary: faina862013 starts a discussion about the eBay guarantee for pre-orders, but no additional details are provided. marioelegio replies with a similar message, also without details.
Good evening.
I purchased an item on pre-order in January with a delivery date estimated, but inaccurate, for February.
The item in question was shipped on April 20 and the seller tells me that delivery takes 2/3 weeks, sending me the shipping proof.
After 3 weeks I contact them, saying that nothing has arrived, and I am told to wait longer. After 4 weeks I contact the seller again, who kindly writes to eBay asking if they can refund me since neither of us is at fault for the item not arriving.
My question is: if the eBay customer guarantee covers claims made within 30 days of the estimated delivery date, for pre-orders are the 30 days considered from the estimated delivery date after shipping? If that were the case, how do I report it if the estimated date is obviously February and so for eBay it is more than 30 days?.
Thanks.

Mentore4 months agoFor these reasons, on eBay sales and purchases on pre-order with a shipping date more than 40 days away are prohibited.
Obviously you are no longer covered by the eBay customer guarantee.
