Warranty on items purchased on eBay
Hello everyone, I reported the malfunction of a mechanical part purchased from a dealer here on e-bay, but he never replied to my messages and he is never reachable at his phone numbers! Since the part was installed on the vehicle a couple of months after purchase, obviously he is taking advantage of the fact that it is no longer possible to leave feedback, or return the item. The law, however, specifies that new goods are covered by a two-year legal warranty!
Therefore, it is not possible that these rights cannot be exercised on e-bay! There is no dedicated section for these cases, and even paypal doesn't let you do anything unless you prove that you contacted e-bay (which is not possible to contact for these situations)
Has anyone else had the same thing happen? How did you eventually solve it?

Mentore3 years agoEbay sells nothing and therefore cannot guarantee the items that the various users sell on the platform.
The Ebay guarantee (like PayPal’s, etc....) is limited to assuring you that you will receive the item that was advertised on the site.
The legal 24-month warranty (if you are a private individual) must be provided to you by the professional seller with its registered office in one of the EU states.
If the seller refuses the warranty, you can file a complaint with AGCM:
The Antitrust Authority has a toll-free number (800166661) active from Monday to Friday, from 10 to 14, for requests for clarification. For reports to the Authority, you must instead fill out the form available in the ‘Consumer’ section of the website www.agcm.it, and send it directly online in electronic format, or by fax to 0685821256, or by mail to the address: Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato - Piazza Verdi, 6/a - 00198 Rome.
However, there is the issue of the installation, you will need a certification from the professional (who installed the part for you) stating that the part was defective and that the malfunction was not caused by him.
