Packlink shipping manager STAY AWAY !!!!
Good morning, stay away from the EBAY - PACKLINK shipping handler it is practically impossible to get any form of compensation for damaged goods even if insured. When you accept the service terms, there are pages and pages of restrictions and packaging materials and cm requirements to comply with the packaging must withstand 1.50 m of free fall, writing fragile means nothing because'
they can stack parcel on parcel...
in short, forget it if you don't want to lose money and items.
this' is part of it :
With Packlink shipping solutions, special services are not provided - SHS Special Handling Health & Safety or SNS Non-stackable Goods - dedicated to shipping fragile items such as plexiglass, crystal, ceramics, porcelain, china, resin, plaster, cement, marble, granite, terracotta, etc. (including items containing these materials even partially).
However, it is possible to ship this type of goods if great care is taken with the packaging according to the Packaging Guidelines. The only exception is flat glass (glass panels or sheets, mirrors, aquariums, windows, windshields, etc.) which does not allow any type of claim in the event of damage.
As regards the special handling of fragile goods - SHS Special Handling Health & Safety or SNS Non-stackable Goods - this type of service is not included among our offers that provide standard services, even if the sender applies the "Fragile" tape and/or other special handling indications. The presence on the parcel of handling instructions of the Special Handing - Fragile - Top - Do not stack weights - Do not turn upside down and/or similar - does not imply acceptance of liability in the event of non-performance by the transport company for standard services.
The goods transported are handled through machines and belts along hub routes and must be prepared to withstand a free-fall height of at least 1.50 m. Fragile goods, which receive specific handling treatment, should incur higher shipping costs since this is a delicate and specialized type of handling. Goods considered fragile, as well as those declared as such, travel under these terms at the sender's risk and peril.
Non-compliant packaging
The packaging prepared must comply with the Packaging Guidelines of the Help Portal, following the specifications depending on the type of goods. Any goods not packaged according to these instructions are excluded from Packlink and/or Carrier coverage. These are not optional suggestions, they are essential requirements.
The outer and inner packaging must provide'adequate protection during the distribution process and be able to protect the product from impacts and vibrations and act as a cushion, with some additional specific precautions depending on the type of goods being shipped.
- For outer packaging, always use double-wall boxes to protect the products from impacts and maintain rigidity, even if stacked one on top of another. Flyers and padded envelopes are not considered materials with sufficient cushioning properties.
- Insert filler below, above and at the sides of the fragile item with a minimum thickness of 5 cm so that the item remains positioned in the center of the box.
- Use foam cushions that fit the shape of the item perfectly, protecting it from impacts. Place one above and one below the product.
If the goods were not properly packaged, any claim will not be accepted. The materials to be used are divided into 3 categories (cushioning, fillers, separators) as indicated here: Inner packaging.
No claim can be accepted in the following cases:
- The goods were not properly packed in a sturdy double-wall cardboard box. Laminated envelopes, bubble-padded envelopes and flyers are not considered materials with sufficient cushioning properties.
- The goods were shipped without approved inner packaging: shaped foam, expanded foam (EPS), expanded polyethylene (PE), moldable foam, inflatable packaging (Airbags). Keep in mind that thermoplastic polystyrene (PU) / packing peanuts / air cushions (Airplus) are only filler materials to reduce vibrations of the goods in transit, they do not absorb drops.
- The goods were shipped with improvised packaging deemed inadequate by the Carriers and the Insurance: newspaper sheets, a single sheet of expanded polyethylene, small-bubble bubble wrap or blankets.
