Used game from retailer doesn't work
Good morning
I bought a used game from a reseller. The PS5 reads it, starts the installation, but once it gets to 78% (7.83 gb) it freezes and an error appears. I tried reinstalling it several times, but once it gets to the same point, the exact same thing happens (freeze + error). It’s a reading error and even trying to fix it as instructed by PlayStation itself, the installation doesn’t go on but always gets stuck there. How should I proceed for a refund?Do I open a dispute on PayPal? What documentation should I provide?

OP3 years agoJust an update
yesterday I contacted the seller, who was immediately willing to accept the return. While I was starting the return process, he wrote to me again saying he could send me another copy directly, without going through the return. As a result, after starting the return process, I canceled it. And just as quickly he sent me a screenshot of the new pickup request and the shipping code, with pickup scheduled for today, and in fact the postal code still shows no tracking

Mentore3 years agoAnd you made a big mistake... first the new copy (presumably burned) should have arrived, then you should have closed the return... if there are other problems, you won't be able to open a second one.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoI figured, but I had faith
A second copy arrived and I'm playing. Left a nice review for the seller

Mentore3 years agoPaypal takes a very long time, use it only as a last resort. Before opening a Paypal dispute, open a return request on eBay: https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/returns-refunds/restituisci-un-oggetto-cambio-di-un-rimborso?id=4041&st=7&po=2&uci=0&ri=0
Compared to Paypal, the eBay process (if they rule in your favor) has two advantages:
From the moment the return request is opened, the seller has three business days to accept it and send you a prepaid label. If the seller does not accept the return, from the fourth day you can ask eBay to step in: https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/returns-refunds/chiedi-ebay-di-intervenire-acquirenti?id=4701&st=3&pos=1&query=Chiedi%20a%20eBay%20di%20intervenire%20-%20acquirenti&intent=chiedi%20ad%20e&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1382
Opening a Paypal dispute immediately closes the eBay process.

OP3 years agoDo I need to notify the seller that the reason for the return is that the game won't install?

Mentore3 years agoThat would be the first thing to do, for the rest go ahead with ebay.
