OP3 years agoSo in your opinion everything is left to chance? I buy an item and the taxation isn’t mentioned? then out of the blue you get 33% of the item’s value straight from the courier. TOTAL MADNESS

Mentore3 years agoFor imports from non-EU countries it is impossible to know the charges perfectly in advance... so, yes, you can consider it left to chance or file a complaint with the European Community for their "madness"...
In any case, you should know... the taxation can't be indicated, because the seller can't know where they will sell their item!

OP3 years agoTOTALLY MISLEADING. EBAY SHOULD WARN THAT FOR THAT ITEM THE TAXATION IS COMPLETELY RANDOM. IT MAKES NO SENSE TO SHOW FREE SHIPPING VAT 6 EUROS. EBAY IS TERRIBLE. YOU ORDER A PACKAGE

Mentore3 years agoIt could have happened with Amazon too, if you had made the purchase on Amazon.com
You made the purchase in a non-EU country.
You paid part of the VAT to eBay (the 6 euros are certainly not enough) and so you had to pay the rest on arrival together with the customs charges.

OP3 years agoSpecify in the itemized bill that it would not have been 6 euros but 6 euros plus 40 ?
OMIT THE WORD "FREE"? maybe a bit misleading. don't you think?
