I received a refund that was not equal to the price paid
I purchased an item worth €104.00... I had to return it because it did not match the description. I shipped the item back at my own expense to the seller, €12.00, but I only received €96.00 as a refund. eBay tells me the missing €8.00 is a deduction for the seller. I don't understand... Why didn't I receive €104 when I paid the shipping costs?

Those would have been eBay's rules..... https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/returns-refunds/returning-item/return-shipping?id=4066&st=3&pos=1&query=Spese%20di%20spedizione%20della%20restituzione%20-%20acquirenti&intent=spese%20di%20reso&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1152
Then לגבי the refund: I assume there are currency exchanges involved. They should be the exchange fees for both the payment and the refund. Since you don't specify where you made the purchase, it's hard to give an answer.
