I requested a refund for an item that arrived damaged, but I don't know if I need to return it because
Hello. I requested a return for an item that arrived damaged directly from Ebay and after they took my request in hand, the next day I received a full refund which still has not shown up in my PayPal account. What I don’t understand is whether I have to return the item because no one has asked me to send it back. Has this happened to anyone? Who should I contact to find out whether I actually have to return it or not?!?

If the return request is closed, technically on eBay you wouldn't be required to send the item back.
If the seller has issued a voluntary refund, it would be right to return the item. It is still up to you to decide what to do with it.

Mentore3 years agoThis only applies as far as eBay is concerned. But not for Italian law.
With a refund, the item goes back to belonging to the seller. If the buyer keeps it without the seller’s permission, they risk being reported for misappropriation.

you'll find the refund exactly on the payment method you used... if you used the balance on your PayPal account, you'll find it there... otherwise it will be reversed onto the card you used.
As for the item, you need to contact the seller and tell them that you'll keep the item available for pickup, and after a certain amount of time... reasonable for the situation... you'll throw it away.
