I shipped the package to France with UPS, it shows as delivered to the UPS point, there’s also proof of delivery
Summary: tigrorso reported having sent a package to France via UPS and that it was marked as delivered to an UPS Point, with proof of delivery available.
Hello, please help me. A customer bought a miniature made by me, I shipped his package with UPS to France. The package arrived, the courier came, rang the bell but didn’t wait for the recipient to come down and pick up the package and left. On tracking, the package shows as delivered to an UPS point with proof of delivery signed by a manager of that UPS point. The recipient went to the UPS point, but they told him the package isn’t there. He called UPS in the area and they told him the package was delivered to another UPS point. He goes there, but the package isn’t there either. That UPS point manager in France who signed for the package says he never received anything and didn’t sign anything that day.
In the end, yesterday I opened a claim with UPS for the lost package, but the customer opened a dispute against me for the package not received. eBay gave me until February 7 to resolve the problem or issue the refund. UPS takes at least 2 weeks to investigate the package. So how am I supposed to resolve the problem by February 7? Why should I refund the customer if the package shows as delivered and there is also proof of delivery? And if I issue the refund and then UPS finds the package and delivers it to the customer? Then he’ll have both the money and the item too? What should I do?

Mentore1 year agoThat proof of delivery doesn’t say that the package was delivered to the buyer, it only says that it is still in UPS’s hands and that they’re unable to trace it.
So you’ll have to hope they find it by the 7th; otherwise you’ll be forced to refund it, or you can try asking him to wait a few more days before he asks eBay to step in.
If he asks eBay to intervene and, in any case, if the package arrives after the refund, you’ll instead have to hope for the buyer’s honesty and that he returns the refund to you.
If loss is confirmed, you can try to go after UPS, but if the package wasn’t insured, it’ll be hard to get anything.
bye
