I have a question
I bought an item, but the seller doesn’t want to go ahead with the shipping because the payment will be credited to him in 20 days instead of 48 hours. What can I do?

That way, if he doesn’t want to advance just the shipping costs, upon the refund request, he’ll have to pay the full refund amount out of his own pocket!

OP3 years agoHe states quite clearly that he won't send anything unless he has first received payment from eBay, and I have already paid via PayPal. I told him that in any case we're both protected by eBay and there's no risk, but he says his item is too valuable to ship without first having the payment. So he asked me to cancel the purchase, since he can't cancel it himself. Or he asks me to prompt the transaction; in that case he's willing to ship right away.
An unusual situation, I'd never run into it before.

Mentore3 years agoThe situation is not unusual... it's the seller who is unusual... now all transactions go through eBay... through PayPal you paid eBay... eBay then, via bank transfer, will pay the seller... but since he is probably new, he will have his funds blocked for at least 15 days, according to the site's rules.
You can't cancel anything, only the seller can do it, but in this case he will have to refund out of his own pocket until his funds are released...
It suits him... just so he doesn't have to front the shipping costs?

Mentore3 years agoPass along to him what sika700 wrote to you; that's exactly how it works on eBay. Maybe he should have informed himself before putting a valuable item up for sale. Only the seller can cancel the order, and after that he’ll have to refund you with his own money, without even having seen yours; afterwards it will become increasingly difficult for him to sell items on eBay, valuable or not.
