I sold a working product and the buyer says it isn't.
Hello, I sold a working tech product. After leaving positive feedback, the customer is asking me for a refund for an item that isn’t working.
I’m afraid they broke it and now want me to refund them. To add insult to injury.
What should I do?

Mentore3 years agoYou can only refund him.
If he claims the item is not as described, it will be just his word against yours. If he doesn’t make any procedural mistakes or there isn’t some message in which he states that he received it working, eBay will almost certainly side with the buyer.
To try to get out of it with the least damage, it would be better to send him a prepaid return label and get the merchandise back (otherwise you risk having to refund without even getting the item back). When the item arrives, you can try to dispute the damage (if there is any), but even in this case it’s not certain that you’ll be able to get a ruling in your favor.
