Good evening Ebayers I’ve been a user for more than 20 years and, like many of you, I make some extra money and clear out my house of items I no longer use by selling them to people who might give them a second life.I’m always accurate in my descriptions: lots of photos, I point out all defects, and when I don’t know an answer I simply don’t give one, so as not to mislead the buyer.Last week this happened to me: a very kind customer bought a circuit board for an air conditioner salvaged from an old split unit. It was paid for, packaged, and shipped on time.When he received it, after taking his own one apart, he realized he had bought the wrong item. Without even contacting me, he opened a return request, stating in the reason that he had bought by mistake.I contacted eBay and the operator told me that if I had offered returns, the customer would have had the right to request a return within the following 14 days.So I explained my reasons: yes, the customer also pays the shipping, the costs I incurred for proper packaging and the time spent waiting in line to ship it—who reimburses me for that??Let’s imagine everyone did the same as him: I’d be going back and forth for nothing, wasting resources and time.Another thing: since I, like many of you, am a private seller, in my listings especially for electronic boards I never guarantee that they work, because I’m not a technician and I don’t have the tools, and I offer them at lower prices than the market (all or almost all of them are working). And if a buyer purchased an item, installed it incorrectly, or if unfortunately it didn’t work, and to get around the indication that I don’t guarantee functionality that I state in the listing, they asked for a return saying the reason was "sorry, I made a mistake" ???? In my opinion that’s not okay, because the buyer risks nothing, and could even have fun ordering it, using it for 10 days, and then returning it... I want to file a formal complaint with eBay.... do you have any email address or certified email I can send it to?? thanks
