The decline of eBay
Summary: The discussion, started by joecolton79, is about the decline of eBay. However, neither the initial post nor sika700's reply contains any further details or arguments, as both are empty.
It had been a while since I’d sold anything on eBay, and a few days ago I decided to put about thirty vintage toys from my collection up for sale. After 24 hours I had very few views, basically none, and I managed to make only one sale. I deleted them and listed them on another very famous selling platform that I won’t name. The same items in the same amount of time got many more views and, of course, I had many more sales. What’s going on with eBay? Uploading items is all clunky and complicated compared with that other platform; the shipping options are unnecessarily complicated, all those options just make you waste time. On that other platform you just select from small package to large and that’s it; here you have to enter the dimensions, the weight, correct the street if it’s wrong, the day, the shipper and so on, and in any case you end up with higher shipping costs. Choose the post office and you get a PDF with two forms to fill out and four pages to print... on the other side it does everything automatically much faster and in a simpler way without making you waste all that time. I took down all the listings and went straight back to the other one; it’s impossible to sell on eBay like it used to be.

The fact that you can no longer sell on eBay like you used to may be due precisely to the spread of other marketplaces.
Kind regards.
