On October 9, I ordered a Samsung charger. Unfortunately, I was sent a counterfeit item, so yesterday I contacted the seller to inform him of this fact and try to resolve the issue amicably. He denied having sold me a fake, even though I provided evidence by sending comparative photos with an authentic charger that I had bought from a well-known electronics store chain. The seller also blocked me, so I had to open an INAD case (item not as described), at which point he sent me a return label. However, not only had that label been generated on September 22 (so even before I had purchased the product), but when I called the carrier's customer service, they also told me that the sender name on it was someone else's, and the seller had falsified the entire label by deleting the original information and replacing it with mine. They advised me not to use it and to contact Ebay, especially because the recipient address (the seller) was a locker, and he had not even provided his real personal information. I called Ebay customer service, and they acknowledged the problem, told me that the label provided by the seller was not valid, and sent me a new shipping label with the correct information. The thing is, the return tracking code has not yet been updated in the system. Is it safe for me to proceed with the return using the new label? I have until October 29 to send the item back, but what happens if the return shipment takes longer and the case is automatically closed because I didn't use the (invalid) label uploaded by the seller?
