The seller is refusing to replace or refund an item under warranty, sending me back to the manufacturer.
Hello everyone, I bought an item that started having defects after the fateful 30 days of Ebay warranty (before it was 60, now I often buy elsewhere). I ask the seller for a refund of the item with return, he refuses it. He does the same via Paypal.
Now I have contacted the European Commission, I don’t have money to waste.
I took the time to inform him, and he casually replies that if I contact the manufacturer I will have the warranty (which by law is 24 months).
I ask: can he just not deal with providing customer support and send me back to the manufacturer?
Is that legally correct as well as ethically? Surely, during the two refusals, he could have given me some guidance by writing a couple of lines. Thank you very much

Mentore2 years agoIf you can't make the return through PayPal, it's been more than 6 months.

OP2 years agoThanks Mario, I reported the seller to the antitrust authority, documenting all the refund refusals (through Ebay, then through Paypal, then through the European Commission, and finally when I contacted him directly, when he coldly sent me back to the manufacturer, even though the law says that for the first 6 months the seller is responsible). There are sellers who, out of respect for the customer, take a loss even when they don't have to; let alone like this. Also, I will continue by asking for compensation through the consumer association.
Our money is hard-earned and we can't just give it away to a seller who ignores respect for those who spend it and have legitimate reasons... I advise all buyers who are victims of clear abuses to turn to the competent authorities and not let unreceived refunds die away... especially when it affects someone who struggles to make a living, it is not right to harm them like this

OP2 years agoThanks, through your link I reported his behavior to the antitrust authority since he still had to provide me assistance as it was under warranty.. also the consumer association.
