The seller no longer responds
Good evening everyone,
I bought a smartphone whose screen suddenly stopped working, so I contacted the seller. They told me to send it back to them, and they would repair it and send it back, but instead I asked whether I could get a refund by sending the phone back without it being repaired afterward.
I haven’t received any reply to my latest request, even though the phone is still under warranty, since I bought it less than a year ago.
Am I wrong to ask for a refund instead of a repair, or are they being rude by not replying, knowing they’d lose money?
Thanks!

Mentore3 years agoAssuming that if the seller is the last one who left you feedback, they had their registered office in Shenzhen in China.
If that's the case, you have no guarantee.
In any case, even if it had been a professional seller with a registered office in a EU country (and therefore if there were a legal warranty), it would have been up to them to decide how to restore conformity (that is, whether to refund it, replace it, or have it repaired within a reasonable time).
