The seller refuses to refund me
Hello everyone,
I bought a product that turned out to be clearly not as described. I asked for a refund, but the seller doesn’t want to give me one, and I don’t know why since I’m clearly in the right. (I bought a magnetic window cleaner and the listing doesn’t specify the maximum glass thickness, which is less than normal window glass. It says so on the packaging, though)
We’ll have eBay step in. My question is: when eBay intervenes and rules in the buyer’s favor, is the buyer still required to return the product? I saw in the FAQ that in case of winning the dispute, you receive a refund within 48 hours, and that’s why I’m unsure.

the seller cannot issue you a simple refund... you first have to return the item.
If you have opened the correct procedure on eBay (not PayPal!)

and if the seller does nothing, on the fourth day you can ask eBay to step in:

Only then will eBay be able to refund you with the seller's money, and in that case the item will go back to being the seller's property... you can contact them and tell them that you will keep it at their disposal for collection at their expense for a time you deem reasonable, then you will be forced to get rid of it.
If instead you opened the dispute on PayPal, I confirm what pafispi already said, with the update that the return shipping will be at your expense.

Mentore3 years agoIf you win the dispute, naturally you'll have to send the item back (shipping costs borne by the seller )
You will be refunded after the item is delivered.
