the seller wants bank payment and no longer responds to my messages
I won an auction where it said he absolutely wanted a bank transfer (I thought that was also covered by eBay protection, I’m new here), but I don’t trust him. There are too many things that make me suspicious; all the positive reviews are for items that cost little/very little, he didn’t put real photos of the item for the auction, and he seemed a bit weird in chat replies. Now he has posted other listings with the same item and he doesn’t reply to my messages. For these reasons I think it’s pointless to pay with PayPal since I know nothing would arrive anyway. He won’t even cancel the purchase. But if I don’t pay once the 4 days to pay have expired, what happens? Does the purchase simply get cancelled and I get a negative feedback on my account? Or does something more "serious" happen? The thing is that he doesn’t reply to my messages anymore; otherwise we could have solved it. But I strongly doubt the seller, in fact I find it absurd that he can keep listing the same item while requiring bank transfer, and eBay does nothing?

Mentore2 years agoAsking for payment by bank transfer is not allowed on eBay and is almost never asked by an honest seller.
Don’t pay; at most you’ll get a warning.
Report the extremely dishonest seller to eBay ….. https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/segnala-un-problema-con-un-venditore?id=4022
