Import from Switzerland
Good morning everyone.
I've been buying from countries outside the European Union for years, but I just can't figure out the taxes (duties, VAT, and any other charges) as far as Switzerland-Italy purchases are concerned. I searched the AIDA website and found the code related to the type of item to import (85193000 00), but their own site doesn't recognize that code when I try to enter it, so there's no way to find out how much I'd have to pay once the shipment arrives on national territory.
To be specific: it's a 12" vinyl (33 rpm) costing about €63 including shipping. I'd like to know if any of you have already bought something from Switzerland and if you can therefore give me at least an example or an estimate of how much I would have to pay (or a way to find the AIDA list elsewhere, since on their site their own codes aren't recognized).
Thanks and all the best

Mentore1 year agoThe code you indicated is wrong, since it refers to the record player platter and not to the record.
In my opinion the correct one is this: 85232990 00
No duty and VAT at 22% (4% if it was released together with a periodical).
Then there may be any charges for the courier for customs assistance, so consider roughly what Sika indicated.

OP1 year agoThanks. I had only found this and even on the site it wouldn't accept it.

Mentore1 year agoNobody knows for sure... you’ll also have to pay Italian VAT and I’d add the carrier charges, which will depend on the courier that takes your package... I’d budget an extra 20/30 €.
Kind regards.
