Unable to return an item that does not match the description
Summary: The discussion concerns a return issue for an item that does not match the description. chifacch-11 raised the issue, but the specific details were not provided. marioelegio responded, but in this case too there are no further details about the content of the response.
Hello, I’m really despairing of solving this. I bought a mobile phone described as no brand, which then turned out to be Vodafone-branded. The seller didn’t provide any procedure to unlock it, so I requested a return, but for three days they didn’t respond or send a return label, so I opened a dispute. At that point they replied saying that since I had opened the dispute they could not send the return label and that they hadn’t replied because they were away on vacation. So I closed the dispute, but it’s no longer possible to request the return, and I can’t even reopen a dispute to notify eBay that the seller wrote to me telling me to find a solution with eBay.
I’m trying to find a way to contact eBay but I keep getting bounced around by automatic buttons that end in a dead end of a return that appears completed, when in fact you can see from the status that the item hasn’t even been shipped yet because I’m still missing the return label. I buy online all the time and I’ve never had a problem like this. It’s going in circles and no result is being achieved, help, what can I do?

Mentore1 year agoOn eBay, you can’t do anything else. By closing the dispute, you declared that you no longer have anything to ask the seller.
And yet, when you tried to close that same dispute, eBay had warned you about the consequences your request would have, and despite that warning, you clicked confirm.
Unfortunately, some unscrupulous sellers count on the fact that there are buyers who act first, then read what they’ve done, and only ask for help when it’s too late.
All you can do now is turn to the protections of the payment methods you used, so dispute on PayPal, chargeback through your credit card issuer.
